Soulful Living

About Claire Delaney

As a full-time artist and tutor, doing inspired work that makes a difference is my prime focus. Working with diverse ages from 6yrs to 80yrs, I create a safe space where people find their own artistic process, either in a small group or individually.

With a BA (Hons) degree in Textiles and Fashion. I have taught and exhibited for over 20yrs extensively throughout communities in the U.K and NZ.

Known as a mixed media artist and illustrator, I am fascinated by layers and happy accidents! This ensures my classes are full of fun, good coffee, cake and friendships. Not just about art, these classes are about claiming time out and regaining balance in your busy life, enjoying new skills and fulfilling your inner artist!

In 2016 I achieved my lifelong dream of writing and illustrating a children's book called "Little Wing". It's a book about realising our own unique potential and following our dreams, because so many of us feel like we wander through life with a stuck wing! It seems to be a children's book for adults.

The book was printed by letterpress and hand bound. It won two Gold awards at the NZ Pride of Print 2016, which was incredibly exciting!

A creative story teller, who plays with words and pictures. An international exhibiting artist and tutor for over twenty years. I believe the creative process is crucial to add balance, wellbeing and fun to anyone's life.

"Just wanted to say again how very much I enjoyed yesterday."
"I actually found it very exciting to be doing something so very different for myself. In fact it has occupied my mind totally since, and I found myself awake in the middle of the night scheming ways I could incorporate art into my life!"
"During summer school I gained clarity that my way of painting is from the inside out, and I feel that I began to connect with my true authentic self-expression."
